“Psychodrama with Trauma Survivors: Acting Out Your Pain”: the PGI’s latest publication

We were delighted to host the presentation of the Institute of Group Psychology’s latest publication:

“Psychodrama with Trauma Survivors: Acting Out Your Pain”

The esteemed editors of this extraordinary compilation, featuring contributions from renowned psychodrama therapists worldwide, are Peter Felix Kellermann (a seasoned psychodrama therapist and author of works such as “Focus on Psychodrama,” “Sociodrama and Collective Trauma,” and others) and M. K. Hudgins (a skilled psychodrama therapist and chairperson of the board of directors at the Therapeutic Spiral International). Among the distinguished authors, you will also encounter luminaries such as Zerka Moreno, Adam Blatner, Marcia Karp, Grete Leutz, Anne Schützenberger, Eva Røine, Jörg Burmeister, and many others.

In a world where natural disasters, social upheavals, and political crises have become a part of daily life, therapists are increasingly confronted with the imperative to discover swift and effective methods for aiding individuals who have endured trauma – whether it be physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, experiences of war or captivity, struggles with addiction, involvement in road accidents, encounters with grief, or profound losses, among other challenges. These profound yet accessible texts offer compelling evidence of the efficacy of psychodrama in addressing individual and collective trauma.

The book presentation took place on September 14, 2023, at 18:30 at the Goethe-Institut Sofia Library (1 Budapest Street). The event was skillfully moderated by Zlatko Teoharov and featured the participation of two of the translators, Antoaneta Mateeva and Detelina Hristova, as well as the editor, Genoveva Teoharova.
