PGI Philosophy

In its research, applied and educational practices, our team builds on the knowledge and approaches developed by:

  • dynamic psychotherapy to explain unconscious processes in human groups and organizations;
  • systemic thinking to understand the nature of the conflict between socially defined roles and structures and their subjective interpretation by the individuals in these roles;
  • intersubjectivity as a concept grasping the characteristics of human relationships and
  • the psycho-social method of studying them, taking into account the complex interrelation between the inner world of individuals and the social context in which it takes shape and finds expression.

In their work PGI team members integrate experience and knowledge from a range of fields in the Humanities: sociology, politics and philosophy, as well as the arts, neurobiology and medicine.
